ClickFunnels vs GetResponse: Marketing automation software, compared
Which is better for your business?
In this head-to-head battle of ClickFunnels vs GetResponse, which one will come out as the better email marketing automation software?
Being that these are two largely different products, the answer ultimately won’t be as clear-cut. Both suites of tools have unique strengths which help businesses market and sell their products and services. Your business needs will likely determine which product to go for.
Our hope is to help you take action on either of these awesome products so you can finally kick things off with your marketing. No more putting things off. That’s the endgame here—at least for now.
In today’s post, we are pitting two of the most favored email marketing automation tools in the market against one another. Which one is better for your business: ClickFunnels or GetResponse?
⁉️ What are ClickFunnels and GetResponse? What are they used for?
We look at ClickFunnels, primarily, as a sales funnel builder.
For the benefit of those who don’t know, a “sales funnel” is the process through which you put your customers to. Sales funnels are great because they keep your leads in order, meaning they don’t get lost or confused in the process.
ClickFunnels helps entrepreneurs build websites, landing pages, and sales funnels even if they don’t know how to code. This is done through CF’s intuitive drag-and-drop interface, making building easy and frictionless. You can literally make pages and websites in a matter of minutes!
GetResponse, meanwhile, is known by many as a simple email marketing solution to rival its peers, AWeber, Mailchimp, and the like.
However, recent updates to the product have turned it into something so much more. Robust features such as webinar support, “autofunnels”, and a full-fledged landing page builder make it a worthy to compare side-by-side with ClickFunnels.
✨ Breaking down ClickFunnels and GetResponse’s features
O.K., time to nerd out.
Let’s look at a comparison of both tools’ features to see how one will stack against the other.
But before we get to that, it’s important to note that depending on your business’ needs, you won’t need all of these features. The last thing we want you to succumb to is to become faded with bells and whistles.
With that being said, here’s a comparison of ClickFunnels and GetResponse’s features:
Both ClickFunnels and GetResponse cater to every business size, but they differ wildly in terms of pricing.
Having said that, it’s important noting that each platform has unique offerings with their plan. And looking at the value they provide, it’s our opinion that both are reasonably priced.
ClickFunnels‘ pricing plans are straightforward, having only two on offer:
ClickFunnels plan (at $97/mo)
Etison Suite plan (at $297/mo), includes Actionetics and Backpack
We find that the basic ClickFunnels plan works for most entrepreneurs, but if you’re planning for an even more powerful funneling solution than what CF has on offer, you might want to check out the Etison Suite plan. It also includes Backpack, which lets you set up an affiliate marketing program for your own products without touching a single line of code.
GetResponse plans are more varied. While they generally do cost you fewer dollars, it’s worth noting that you are getting a good portion of what you can do with ClickFunnels.
Basic plan (at $15/mo)
Plus plan (at $49/mo)
Professional plan (at $99/mo)
Enterprise plan (at $1,199/mo)
The above plans are based on a monthly billing period. GetResponse offers discounts to users who pre-pay in 12-month or 24-month periods. The pricing also depends on your list size, with the above numbers based on 1,000 subscribers.
The Basic plan is likely the one you’d want to go with, but if you want something more comparable to what you can do with ClickFunnels, get the GetResponse Plus plan.
🤔 Things to consider before buying ClickFunnels or GetResponse
By now you should have a clearer idea with regards which software to get between ClickFunnels and GetResponse. But to help you even further in making the decision, we have listed a few things you should think about before popping your wallet open and getting either of the two.
If you want to forget coding and tech altogether…
ClickFunnels is worth a try. The biggest selling point of this product is its ease-of-use. No CF customer I know has complained ever about its UX because it’s so damn easy to use.
This principle shines through the many case studies that ClickFunnels shares on their website. Any business, big or small, can set up profitable sales funnels.
Just listen to Julie Stoian speak about how ClickFunnels powers her own agency:
The real kicker here is she manages everything while fulfilling her duties as a mom. Go figure!
Of course, you can do this with GetResponse too. Though complaints about that software’s user experience have been sparse, it’s hard to compete with ClickFunnels’ which almost removes their software with any friction that might slow down your sales process.
If you’re wondering if you can do this on WordPress instead…
The short of it is: yes, you can. And the long of it is: yes, you can…but only if you’re willing to put the time and the effort in.
You see, with services like ClickFunnels and GetResponse, you are automating a big part of the process. Meaning, you have more time to work on your business.
There are tons of resources online on how you can emulate much of what CF and GetResponse can do, but it will likely take you even more time and money than when you just purchase either software’s plans.
It’s also worth noting that you don’t have to restrict yourself from using WordPress or ClickFunnels exclusively, especially if you need WordPress’ capabilities of presenting content.
Take our website for example.
We run Leaders Who Launch on WordPress and use GetResponse for our marketing automation. While ClickFunnels is amazing, we had to go with WordPress because of the nature of our model (a blog). In addition, we don’t have any product we’re selling yet, so spending the extra dime on CF doesn’t make sense.
That being said, if you have the budget and the actual requirement for ClickFunnels, we urge you to move forward with it.
If you just want to get started already…
First of all, bless your heart for thinking this way.
One of the biggest insights we want to impart here at Leaders Who Launch is for our readers to just get on it already.
Stop reading the blog. Stop listening to the podcasts. Stop watching informational videos.
In the words of an enigmatic young man from Hollywood:
So much of the best marketing online happen because their authors let it happen. If they didn’t, these would just be ideas without legs. So, if you believe that you have something valuable to offer (it’s important that you believe), take heed from Shia LaBeouf’s advice and…
Just. Do. It.
👑 ClickFunnels or GetResponse: Which should you use for your business?
Now that all of that is out of the way, it’s time to answer the question:
Which between ClickFunnels and GetResponse is better for your business? We have our own subjective opinions for that, but to give you an objective takeaway, take a look at this:
As you can see from the table above, it won’t be a mistake to go with either ClickFunnels or GetResponse. However, we think it’s best to think about your business’ needs and pain points.
